Mary: The 2008 election
Alec: Although there have been many news breaking stories and
interviews, it was Brian Unger's Report on Thanksgiving speeches that
kept me in my car, laughing out loud.
How did you discover WRNI?
Mary: Searching for my local NPR station
Alec: Shortly after moving to RI from Cambridge, MA, in 2000, I found it
on 1290AM and have been listening ever since.
Who is your favorite NPR/WRNI personality and why?
Mary: Terry Gross. Fantastic interviews.
Alec: Terry Gross, for in depth interviews with exceptional background
knowledge and preparation.
What inspired you to support WRNI?
Mary: Keep it local.
Alec: Desire to have an NPR station that's locally owned, operated and
uniquely serving Rhode Islanders.
What does independence mean to you?
Mary: Being proud to have our own station.
Alec: Freedom with responsibility.
