Providence, R.I. – Three of the four Republicans running in the 2nd Congressional District will square off tonight in a televised debate.

Republicans Mark Zaccaria, William Clegg, and Michael Gardiner will take part during the League of Women Voters-ABC6 debate at 8 pm. Another candidate, Donald Robbio, isn't included, since he didn't meet the league's rules for participation.

Providence, R.I. – An air and sea search continues today for a 25-year-old man who went missing in Narragansett Bay while fishing off of rocks yesterday afternoon.

Stacey Wallace, with the U.S. Coast Guard, says the search area stretches from Narragansett to Newport.

"It's all of Narragansett Beach up to Bonnet Shores and then over to Brenton Point here at Newport," Wallace says.

Providence, R.I. – You can put the umbrella away for a while. We're in the early stages of what looks like a five day heat wave.

Sunny and hot with highs in the 90s and lows in the upper 60s. That's the Rhode Island forecast through Thursday.

But National Weather Service meteorologist Bill Simpson says it will be slightly less humid than previous heat waves this summer.

Providence, R.I. – The Paralyzed Veterans of America wants to speed up the way veterans collect benefits.

During the group's convention in Providence today, Deputy Executive Director Maurice Jordan said the PVA is pushing the Veteran's Administration to use a paperless process for health care claims.

"Instead of this antiquated, paper process, make it more seamless, so that veterans, or the people that are serving the veterans, can have access to their records," Jordan said.

Providence, RI – Landmark Medical Center and Caritas Christi Health Care met their latest deadline and submitted a signed purchase agreement Friday to a Superior Court judge.

A court-appointed special master has been running the financially troubled Landmark Medical Center in Woonsocket for two years now. And Landmark has been exclusively negotiating with the Massachusetts-based Caritas Christi Health Care for nearly half that time.
