PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The head of the state Economic Development Corporation won't say whether he hopes to stay in the job when the next governor takes office.

The EDC has remained in the spotlight because of a controversial $75 million state loan guarantee for video game maker 38 studios. EDC head Keith Stokes took his job on a one-year basis last January. He says he hasn't given much thought to whether he'll stay on in the next administration.

Providence, R.I. – The Federal Aviation Administration says the town of Jamestown has a few options if it still wants to put up a wind turbine.

The FAA has sent Jamestown officials a notice that the wind turbine proposed for Taylor Point is too tall and would interfere with air traffic at Quonset Point.

Providence, R.I. – Central Falls firefighters have agreed to make some contract concessions to help the cash-strapped city.

The state appointed receiver who is managing Central Falls has reached an agreement with the city's firefighters that will save $289,000 in this fiscal year.

Providence, R.I. – The owners of a funeral home in the Wayland Square neighborhood of Providence want to build an Irish pub next door.

Mark Russell co-owns the Monahan Drabble Sherman Funeral Home with his brother Robert. They have some extra property, he says, they wanted to put to use.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Six months after days of heavy rain flooded the Pawtuxet River, Senator Jack Reed stood near its banks to announce another infusion of federal cash to deal with the aftermath.

"We're announcing 13 million dollars in assistance for the state of Rhode Island," Reeds said.

The money, which comes in the form of a Community Development Block grant can be used for anything flood related. Warwick Mayor Scott Avedesian says some of the money will be spent buying damaged homes.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The RISD Museum in Providence is preparing to reopen some galleries that have been closed for the last year for renovations.

The ancient, medieval and early Renaissance galleries are due to reopen to the public on Friday. Renovations include restoration of door moldings, wood flooring and changes to way artifacts are displayed. Curator of ancient art, Gina Boromeo, says it's a major improvement.
