Policy & Pinot is our public discussion series held in conjunction with the Providence Athaneum.
Latest Event: "Visual Arts in the Creative Capitol"
Listen to the discussion here.
Providence has the Rhode Island School of Design, easy access to New York and Boston, yet the so-called Creative Capitol doesn't have much of a contemporary art scene.
Why is that?
We explored that question and whether Providence might look to RISD and vacant mills to turn the city into a destination for up and coming artists.
The discussion was recorded on May 8th at the Providence Atheneum
Moderator: Elisabeth Harrison
Panel: Vanpuothong Souvannasane, co-founder of Yellow Peril Gallery Judith Champa, editor in chief, Art New England magazine Sara Ganz Blythe, director of educational programs at the RISD museum Jay Zehngebot, Providence-based artist
POLICY & PINOT - Politics.
This
edition of our Policy and Pinot programs focuses on Ocean State
politics. Produced in conjunction with the Providence Athenaeum, the program
was taped Tuesday May 31, 2011 before a live audience. It features a
conversation between the regular members of RIPR's weekly Political Roundtable
about the hot topics in Rhode Island
politics. Listen.
2010: an election season to remember
Rhode Island's 2010 election was
eagerly anticipated for years by political junkies. The high stakes
governor's race and the race to fill the seat vacated by Patrick Kennedy
were among the topics discussed at the Rhode Island Public Radio Policy and Pinot on
December 7th, 2010. You can listen to a broadcast of the discussion
here.
