Pires Speaks Out

State Representative Antonio Pires is accusing House Speaker John Harwood of removing him from his position as chairman of the House Finance Committee to expand his power. In an interview with WRNI's Deborah Becker this morning, Pires dismissed suggestions his possible campaign for governor was the reason for the move. Pires says he refused to resign from the post and that his relationship with Harwood is now strained.
