...loves her WRNI mugs
What is your favorite WRNI/NPR program and why?
For fun: Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me
For sexy money talk: Marketplace
Also, Studio 360 & Puzzle Master Presents
Please share your most memorable driveway moment.
Usually a ‘This American Life’ segment.
How did you discover WRNI?
I was living alone in a new place and needed an NPR station to feel less
alone. As I couldn’t get WGBH in my apartment, I tuned into WRNI, got
hooked, and became a devoted listener.
Who is your favorite NPR/WRNI personality and why?
Kai Ryssdal. I find that Marketplace makes a potentially ‘dry’ subject
engaging to me. Plus, of course, I love Kai’s voice and think he’s very
handsome. I also love the dynamic between Kai and the hyper Texan (?).
What inspired you to support WRNI?
I grew up in a very radio-centered family (we didn’t have a television
and my father is a radio junkie); my parents always contributed to at
least one of the regional NPR stations. It’s a value that was instilled
in me at a very young age.
What does independence mean to you?
Independence means that my radio station doesn’t have first loyalty to a
commercial interest(s) and can be responsive to its listeners’ desires.
Describe WRNI in 3 words:
Intimate. Intelligent. Ours.
Describe pledge drives in 3 words:
Necessary. Local Investment.
