EMILY's List Prez says Raimondo "Is Going to Jump In and Run"

While state Treasurer Gina Raimondo remains publicly undecided on a run for governor next year, the president of a top national fundraising organization for women candidates has no doubts.

"Gina Raimondo is going to jump in and run," Stephanie Schriock, the president of EMILY's List, tells Hotline on Call, a DC publication.

Field for Mayor of Providence in 2014 starting to take shape

Educator Victor Capellan, a veteran of Latino politics in Rhode Island, says he plans to run for mayor of Providence in 2014 if Angel Taveras seeks a different office.

Taveras, like state Treasurer Gina Raimondo, is widely expected to run for governor. Independent Governor Lincoln Chafee plans to seek re-election; the only other declared candidate at this point is former state auditor Ernest Almonte, a Democrat.
